There were beautiful flowers blooming all over the campground.

Despite a bike trailer tire blowing out, discovering an animal had nested and peed in our camping gear over the winter, and finding poison ivy on our camp site, the view of the kettle pond from our walk that first night, made it all melt away

Just breathtaking!

The first night the boys were JOYOUS over the simplicity of roasting marshmallows and playing with flashlights. I loved this.
As a parent, you often worry if you are providing enough for your family. There is nothing like a bare bones camping trip to ignite your child’s imagination and make you realize the best thing you can offer him/her is the chance to discover.

When we woke up the next day, Gabe wanted to know immediately when the sun was going to go down again. I promised him there would lots of fun between then and the present, but he just craved the magic of a campground at night.

Jay and I went on a LONG bike ride that day (over 5 hours.) I am SOOOO very amazed he was able to pull the 75 lbs trailer behind him the whole way. (Our boys are getting so big… and heavy!)  I tried to help him pull it up a hill at one point and almost passed out.  Good job, honey!

I just had to visit the lighthouses called, “The Three Sisters” for obvious reasons. While I was there, I thought of my fabulous two friends for life that my parents gave me!

Next up was Nauset Beach. Miles’s jury was still out on the whole beach experience in general, but it was nice for a quick visit.

The Salty Pond visitor center didn’t disappoint either. What a view!

And what could be more fun than throwing rocks in the water? I can’t think of anything!

We went to Provincetown for dinner. The boys were beat, but Jason and I loved the walk and taking in the sensory overload.

Then we “raced” off to Race Point Beach for a beautiful sunset.

I will never forget the kindness of a stranger when she saw the boys and I shivering on the beach and handed me a blanket to snuggle in.  Thank you, mystery lady! My karma must have been good that day.

We got the hint and took another bike ride around Nickerson State Park.

The hit of the day was the applesauce that Hannah brought.
You wouldn’t believe how excited the kids were over this!
We probably could have just gone to a park and eaten apple sauce all morning!

Just second to applesauce, this lion drinking fountain was the main/mane  attraction according to the kids!
(I think these kids could write an awesome Zagat for kids book about the simple stuff that only toddlers like.)

Many wishes were made in this well, most too silly to name. (Thanks for all the change, Hannah!)
