Here’s another glimpse into our fun trip to Lancaster.
The toy train museum was a lot of fun. There were all sorts of buttons Gabe could push to control the model: whistles, lights, signals, and best of all starting the trains!
The Strasbourg Railroad was A LOT of fun. Gabe sat in wonder for the whole 45 minute ride. We learned a lot a about the railroad and also got to watch the engine detach from the front and move to the back for the ride back.
Wow that engine and whistle were loud… as Gabe will surely tell you all about it!
This engineer looked JUST like the one from the Polar Express movie!!
Back in New York… City that is! On the way back we stopped in Central Park for some refreshment and playground time as well as braved the trek to the Toys R Us in Times Square.
We waited for A WHILE to get on the ferris wheel at Toys R Us but I can honestly say it was worth it. All of the cars were themed and I thought Gabe could appreciate pretty much all of them except for the Monopoly car… what 2 year old plays Monopoly? Anyway, don’t we have a 1/14 chance of getting it and of course we do. It turns out I had nothing to worry about though because Gabe looked up at Mr. Monopoly and yelled, “Sir Topham Hat!!” I guess they do have a striking resemblance…
Gabe’s idea of paradise =)
What a fun trip… but we were very happy to be pulling into our driveway later on that evening! What great memories we made though!
They Bryers had a great trip to Pennsylvania this weekend. We started in Easton, PA where we enjoyed the Crayola Factory, The Canal Museum, and a few other quirky things along the way (despite the down pour.) Gabe had a wonderful time with all of the crafts using paint, markers, and crayons. He also loved navigating his own boat through a system of canals (with Daddy’s help of course!) Miles was a trooper and found fun in pretty much any and everything.
Then we were off to the Martin Guitar Factory where we took an hour tour on how the guitars are made. They make 200 a day there.. and each guitar takes months to make. It was pretty fun except holding a toddler the whole time caused some back troubles
(I held him partly because he was sleeping and partly because I didn’t trust him not to run into some industrial sized sander!)
What would a trip to PA be without a visit to Hershey?? We loved spending the day with chocolate and chocolate-related products. We also went on a trolley tour which was fun and educational. I know so much more about Milton S. Hershey now that I am just begging for that to be a question topic when I go on Millionaire someday!
Gabe points to which tasty treat he would like at 10am in the morning!
Then we drove to Lancaster and spent the night…. in a caboose! Gabe thought this was AMAZING! He couldn’t stop talking about spending the night in the “boose” AND that he saw horses out side the window (apparently the road we were on was a common passage for Amish buggies.) We also road on the Strasbourg railroad, visited a toy train museum, got some beers from the lancaster brewery, went to a Hands On Museum… we were busy! Oh, I also stopped at a Childrens Place outlet and got Miles a hat for 19 cents… I think that was my personal highlight =)
OUR CABOOSE:

There was a pretend factory at the Children’s Museum and Gabe LOVED it. He could have spent an eternity on the assembly line… I was thinking if he likes it so much maybe it’s time he get a job that pays doing this sort of work so he can start earning his keep! (the quality control would definitely be an issue for him though
)
We ended the afternoon learning about rockets. We found that both Gabe and Miles enjoyed this. Miles SCREAMED when we took his rocket away… who knew there was possible rocket-scientist genes in our boys?
We drove down to East Meadow for the day to help celebrate Erin’s 2nd Birthday. Despite traffic both ways, it was well worth the trip. This next generation is sure keeping our hands full =)
Erin sure loved her Doritos… as did all of the orange-fingered children (and adults!)
Miles enjoyed a sample of all the foods there!
The pool was a BIG hit. The kids played in it ALL day!
Catching Air!
In and out and in and out!
I didn’t realize that this was a “clothing optional” party… we were all way overdressed!
The swing set won 2nd prize for best backyard activity!
Exhibitionist Slider
Miles prepares to catch his cousins.
Good times on a bus…
WATER FIGHT!!
Who doesn’t love a good slice of watermelon?
CAKE TIME!
Someone order a cleanup crew?
MUCH neater eater on her second birthday
The goggles were a very popular accessory!
The “birthday suit” came out again for a quick game of ring around the rosy
Everything tasted so good… even uneatable things!
The definition of multitasking!
Tickle time
Round and round the shed we go!
Miles “looks up” to his big cousin
TIME FOR PRESENTS!
Gabe thought the fake ice cream looked DELICIOUS
A quick power nap and then she was ready for more!
The horn was an even bigger hit than the bike!
While we were watching gifts being opened, look what these two trouble makers were up to!
My “good idea” son and his accomplice thought it would be fun to ride down the slide in the tunnel!
Jessie Jr. ?
She can pull off heals better than I can!
Thanks for a WONDERFUL day Schwartz Family!
